European Union launching the new funding programme. € 975 billion over a seven year period The information has been organised to the source of funding:
ERDF: The European Regional Development Fund concentrates on less-favoured regions and focuses mainly on productive investment, infrastructure and SME development. ESF: The European Social Fund supports human resource measures (training & skills development) to promote a high level of employment and social protection, equality between men & women, sustainable development and economic & social cohesion EAGGF: European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund finances the Common Agricultural Policy and rural development. FIFG:Fisheries Guidance supports projects related to fisheries restructuring and marketing. Management: Each Scottish Programme is managed by an Intermediate Administrative Body. For the Highlands - HIEPP and Lowland & Upland Scotland - ESEP Ltd. For some of the Structural Fund Priorities, strategic delivery bodies have been initially appointed. Approx. up to 60% of the allocated funding will be ring fenced Highland & Islands Programme: Lowlands and Uplands Scotland Programme: Scotland Alliance, Scottish Enterprise and Community Planning Partnerships (Priority 1ESF &3 ERDF - CPP pilots from March 2008 - Feb. 2010)Applying: Private companies and individuals cannot directly apply for structural funds. However they can be part of a partnership with public organisations and they can benefit from projects developed by public and not for profit organisations. Match Funding: European funding must be matched by funds from other sources and the amount various between the programmes and measures.
