SCOTTISH NATURAL HERITAGE: RURAL LAND USE - Posted: Nov 26, 2009



What''s it for? Encouraging good practices in countryside management

Who can apply? Land managers and community groups in Scotland

What is available? Up to 75% of costs

This grant programme aims to encourage people to manage the countryside
in a sustainable way, by:

* encouraging land-management practices that benefit the aestetic and
wildlife of the countryside for current and future generations; and
* support new approaches to traditional land uses which broaden the
range of public benefits.

The types of activities funded will be:

* Demonstrations of new ways of planning and carrying out land
management;
* Projects that involve land managers working together to agree
economic, social and environmental aims at a local level;
Whole-estate plans or farm plans that provide natural heritage benefits.
