SCOTTISH NATURAL HERITAGE: ATTRACTIVE PLACES TO LIVE - Posted: Sep 28, 2009



What''s it for? Encouraging green spaces in Scottish towns and cities

Who can apply? Charities, community groups and local authorities

What is available? 50 per cent of project costs

This programme aims to provide green spaces in and around towns and
cities, to allow people to enjoy and take pride in a clean, safe,
healthy and attractive environment. Applications should:

* encourage a partnership approach to improving the quality, quantity
and accessibility of green space;
* get more communities involved in creating and improving green space;
* get more people using and enjoying their local green space;
* help improve landscapes that have been damaged by previous land use;
* improve the planning, design and management of green spaces.

The intervention rate is 50 per cent.
